I've been seeing this girl for about a month... I like her a lot but we're very different people. It's not gonna work. I need to go ahead and call it off. I don't want her to be crushed tho. I still like her... maybe just as a friend.

What strategies do you use when dumping someone?

    Any advice would help.

    Thanks.

She really likes me... I get the impression she's gonna be really crushed. I hate for that to happen.

she might be crushed at the time but she'll get over it.

    Send her a text saying:

*Insert her name here,* you're dumped.  Bai! x

Nah, just be honest with her and tell her that you don't think it'll work out in the long run.  Honesty is the best policy, or so they say.

Yeah I know what you mean.  I always think it's better to be straight with them.  No point in trying to think of a reason why it won't work, because half the time they come back with 'But that doesn't matter, we will make it work' and then the other person is like 'Shit, now what!', lol.

    you should say...

how would you like to get your nails done, go shopping, get all dressed up and go on a night out with the girls.

she will of course think "yea thats great"

you then say- thats great cause im dumping you and you will be doing this in the enxt few days, enjoy.

Hazard a touch of narcissism without shame

    Hah. You're cold.

Sounds like the overwhelming consensus is to just be straight up.

What do I say when she asks "why?"... 'cause she will. And any answer I give, no matter what, just gives her a reason to resent me. And I don't want that.
