Posted: Thu 20th Nov 2008, 8:02 pm I've been seeing this girl for about a month... I like her a lot but we're very different people. It's not gonna work. I need to go ahead and call it off. I don't want her to be crushed tho. I still like her... maybe just as a friend.
What strategies do you use when dumping someone?
Any advice would help.

being honest in my opinion puts the ball in her court where u want all the cards (least i do)

Yeah I know what you mean. I always think it's better to be straight with them. No point in trying to think of a reason why it won't work, because half the time they come back with 'But that doesn't matter, we will make it work' and then the other person is like 'Shit, now what!', lol.

you then say- thats great cause im dumping you and you will be doing this in the enxt few days, enjoy.

Sounds like the overwhelming consensus is to just be straight up.
What do I say when she asks "why?"... 'cause she will. And any answer I give, no matter what, just gives her a reason to resent me. And I don't want that.
