if he was un-loyal enough to make deals behind vince's back, how could vince trust him with the WWF belt.

It had to be done because bret had full creative control for the last 30 days of his contract.

i can see the logic in both sides of the arguement. like i say it all comes down to whos side u wanna take from a outsiders point of view imo.

imo like u say Vince wasnt willing to take the chance and did what he had to do for business , all be it probably lucky to escape with his life among everyone surrounding that incident that night , all be it in Brets native Canada.

but as ive never been much of a Bret mark i believe it was right for business

you think what Vince did, by screwing Bret over was the right thing to do?

I don't condone what Vince did, but you can't argue that from a business point of view it was very smart. Having the WWF champ on WCW would be so derogatory that I can see the exact reasons he did it. This is just a purely business point of view, I'm still personally anti HBK, Vince and Trips

Bret was forced out of WWF because Vince couldn't afford the 20 year contract he'd given him. He was spending it allon that tool Tyson for mania 14.

Clearly no bullshit written in this thread so far

Few points, HBK is a very truthful person, as can be confirmed by most reliable sources (no not members of the "clique") so obviously whats written in his book is 100% accurate hehe.

How many years did Bret work for Vince again, 13 was it ?

In that time how many reasons did he give Vince to make him think Bret would be unloyal ? hmmm zero. So the arguement that Vince couldnt allow his champ on nitro with his belt wouldnt have even stood up in a micky mouse military trial held in Guantanamo bay.

The point about him making deals behind Vince's back is also totally untrue lol

Vince told Bret, as Davie said, that he couldnt afford him no more, less than a year no less after chasing him and finally offering him a decent contract. And with the creative control Bret had in his contract he was totally within his rights to tell Vince to fuck off altogether regarding a pregramme with HBK, but he went along with it just to appease Vince like he has always done. To have Bret drop the belt in his back yard to a person like HBK would not only be an insult to Bret but also to the more deserving guys in the back at the time.

Anyways, HBK is very loyal yes and so his Vince.

    Damn you Bret.

Yep. While what Vince did made some business sense, Bret had given him zero reason to not to trust him and it was very nlikely he'd have showed up on Nitro with the WWE belt.

Of course, HBK and HHH were doing everything in their power to fuck up Bret's career, being the selfish, jealous dicks that they are.
