yeah but that will bring short term benefits....He has obviously recently started this diet and i think to start of with that is too much! You need a build up...Your basically saying lets get Jay cutlers diet and copy that...my arguement is at his stage its too much too soon...

I partly agree with you - he is packing his diet full of so much protein i imagine he will spend most of his day shitting it out on the toilet rather than growing muscle and going down the gym.

But still  just because you are starting out and you dont have so much knowledge, you shouldnt have a lax diet. Theres a lot of benefit to taking the first few months seriously - if you are wrong you will work out what is good and bad for you in particular, and as a beginner you will make the quickest gains as a %, more than at any other time.

Thats disgraceful - on his diet up top that would last less than 5 days lol!

he is only using 15g a day.

and 10 of that is on training days.

so when he does not train its only 5g

where do you suggest he starts?

its a decent diet, and over the comming weeks he can adjust it as he needs.

    6-7 meals

    decent protein in each one

eating the right carbs at the right times

    getting 3-6-9's aswell

I wouldnt like to suggest anything as of yet...Like you say he should stick to this now and see hows things  go i suppose your right you have gotta start somewhere...After a about 2-3month id be glad to give suggestions but until then i cant judge as i have nothing to build my opinions on...If he sticks at it after a few months it should be obvious what areas need changing etc

I appreciate your opinions and i've not started on this yet. I might find it difficult but usually if i'm given a plan and a strict way of doing things i'll follow it through. It's just sticking to it and not getting bored if i don't see much immediate gain that's my trouble. If i see muscle gain, that's my incentive to carry on. That's why i've never learnt an instrument or stuff that requires a lot of practice. If i don't see any progress immediately, i'm not liking it.

Basically i've always had a skinny frame and i want to build some weight as muscle whilst keeping myself relatively fit. So i'll be incorporating some fitness/cardiovascular work into my regime. I definately want to try these protein shakes though. Although i may cut down the amount of intake to 25g a serving?

I'll be carrying out this plan when i go back to Uni. Working off a budget of about £20 as well, so it should be about that (excluding the supplements).

Is Spaghetti Bolognese a good meal to have? That's relatively cheap and quick to make.

normally for a muscle building program you need to do cardio at least once a week...I hope you do stick to it because id be interested to hear/see the results...Make sure you do alter your training program after a few months as ive said it shocks the body into growth.Working out your legs is also good but even though i dont do it..Supposedly it releases enzymes which increase muscle growth throughout the body so ive heard..At first i imagine you will see gains mega fast but after a while itl slow down but stick with it..After a few months you can stick to the same program just increse weight or reps..I prefer to increase weight its easier as increasing reps is quite contradictive as in most things ive read say not to exceed more than about 12 or 13 reps...i normally stick to a weight i can do about 8 to 10 with and then try and do about 4 sets il find some good videos for you now stick with this guy and you will see massive improvements il be 2mins
