NFS Most Wanted was the last good NFS IMO. Underground games were alright, nothing special. Think the 1st, 3rd, Porsche Challenge and MW are the only ones I ever really enjoyed properly. Thankfully the new one is supposed to be going back to MW/old NFS style games. Pro Street..they may as well have jammed a shit into a dvd case and sold that.

Gran Turismo series, every time a new one is released, its years ahead of anything else before it.  GT1? I mean that many cars, that many tracks, with that quality graphics? Nothing else came close at the time. Same with GT2, 3, 4 and after playing the recent release (5 prologue) im expecting the same as in GT5

Really is the Ultimate driving simulator......

Tomb Raider and Mario for me.  That's if we're talking about not having to question it.  I'd buy a Tomb Raider or Mario game without looking up reviews, perhaps more of a childhood loyalty thing than common sense.

Of those listed, I'd only go with GTA & GT, oddly enough...Though, to add to the list...

Metroid - Since the list splits off MGS from the main series, I'm splitting the Metroid games from the Primes. Thus we have a completely solid series of action/adventure awesome.

Megaman - Capcom knows how to keep it like we like it and they do it a lot. Megaman gets a spin-off and that spin-off gets a bajillion sequels that are more-or-less interchangable with one another. Be it original, X, Legend, Battle Network, Zero, Star Force, or ZX, he's nothing if not consistant.

Street Fighter - "Hi! Capcom again! We decided to make a fighting game and make it pretty much kick ass all the time forever!" Well, I'm fine with that.

Chrono - Chrono Trigger was one of my favorite RPGs and Radical Dreamers was a lovely addition and Chrono Cross was stunning as well. Not one loser of the bunch, even though said bunch consists of only 3 games...C'mon CT DS, rejuvinate the series!!

I love the Final Fantasy series as much as the next English-speaking RPGer, but there have been WAAAAAAAAAY too many ups & downs for me to mark it as consistant in ANY way. VI, T & IV were the high points if you ask me...I'd say that SE's sister series (and bigger seller in Japan), Dragon Quest is far more consistant, really...

Tomb raider 3 was crap imo... only 2 i really enjoyed were Tomb Raider 1 and 2.

Some of the Mario games were crap...well, spin offs but they are in the mario series.

I don't think it was crap, just not as awesome.  Still a good game I thought.  You're right about Mario, but I wasn't thinking of the spin-offs, they annoy me.
