In my mid-teens I had a copy of Rock Discipline by John Petrucci (DVD) and the book Speed Mechanics for Lead Guitar by Troy Stetina, and spent about 2 hours most nights and 6 at the weekend just playing guitar and working on my technique via exercises and short fragments of songs/music. You should try summa that!

OK can't be arsed to find more videos but other names would be:

Trey Azagthoth, John McLaughlin, Paco De Lucia, Al Dimeola, Marcel Coenen, bleh there's so many, but they're not confied to any one particular genre of type of guitar playing.

Aw, i've always wanted to learn how to play guitar.

I haven't picked up a bass in about two years, but I've decided to give it a go again since I've realised that I don't actually do anything.  The last song I learned was The Patient by Tool, although since I'm a bit rusty I'll probably not touch that album again anytime soon.  Might give the Undertow album a shot.
