I'll never understand the fascination with James Bond films. Same with Star Wars. They don't appeal to me at all.

My mate was raving about Casino Royale saying it was amazing and all that, so he leant me it and it was average. Couple of decent action scenes but nothing special.

I'll probably never watch this new one.

Haha, that's exactly what my mate said to me.

I thought it was better than most of the Bonds. I thought the old ones were boring and the cheesey lines were annoying. Die hard Bond fans seem to dislike the new ones maybe cuz they like all that cheesey shit.

These new ones have an edge to them. The characters darker,tougher and angrier. He takes a lot of hits unlike the old Bonds who went through the whole film without a scratch on them. Apparently this new Bond is more like the one from the original books.

The villains are not OTT like the ones from the old ones. On the whole I enjoyed this. It's no classic but much better than the old Bonds. The other thing I liked was they didn't drag it. They got straight to the point and straight into it. Action sequences were quite good and one of the fight scenes reminded me of the fight scenes in the Bourne trilogy.

not seen the new film yet but some points

casino royale wouldnt have got made the way it was if it wasnt for the bourne films (every modern action film is trying to be them and not always as good) and die another day being 2 far fetched, same happened after moonraker, for your eyes only was made to bring it back to earth and more realistic

casino royale is not a proper bond film thats y people say if u dont like the old bonds you will like casino royale its completely differant to the others, its just a good action thriller but is missing some vital bond ingredients gadgets, moneypenny, q, a car, a great villain, a sidekick, a memorable theme of course having these things doesnt necvessarily make a good bond just look at view to a kill or man with the golden gun (one of the best villains ever though) but these things make it bond

not all the old bonds are the over top chessy things just look at dr no, octupussy, russia with love and four your eyes only

darker does not always work for bond, bonds more an excapist funt type of film maybe slightly over the top but it works goldfinger is one of the best films ever, spy who loved me and you only live twice work just as well, a failure of the dark bond is timothy dalton in license to kill

the more vunerable bond who took hits was not just introduced with daniel craig its there in the pierce brosnan films

n not all the old bonds are the same!!!!

I don't like them either. Found them to be TOO cheesy. Didn't really like Casino Royale either. As the other guy said, it was just trying to copy the Bourne films and failing miserably.

Damn right lol. 'The names Bond,James Bond' in every fuckin movie. The bond girls have some cheesey names too. Pussy Galore and Xenia Onatopp to name a couple.

I suppose if you grew up with them, then you'd probably like them but no-one in my family ever liked them and that meant I never really watched them til I was older and saw they are actually shit.

Same with Star Wars, actually. I think it's all about if you liked these as a kid, you'll like when you're older.

True I hate Star Wars. I forced myself to sit through one but barely managed it lol.
