horrible induction sound! people can hear when you have throttle fully open.. so if in 5th at low speed, theres more sound than movement and makes u feel a penis.

stock paper panel filter with a cold feed from the grill works fine and isnt so noisy.

what car do you have ?

supposedly replacing it with a bigger intake increases fuel efficiently and do not need to be replaced at each service. Some people also like the noise.

i dont know how other cars fair but i do know that installing an induction kit into a supra makes no difference what so ever.

buy one.. the noise will soon piss you off.

there is no noticeable difference between a paper filter and k&n. also a paper filter is £2-3, easier to just keep replacing it as normal, as you still have to clean a k&n and some need oil!

I used Pipercross in my MG1600 Maestro once but only because of some genuine reasons:

    1. The metal airbox across the top of the carbs was causing heat soak, so the fuel was effectively vapourising before it reached the inlet valves! As a result it helped to resolve some of the lumpy tick-over/ hot start problems.

    2. It was re-useable. Just needed to be washed in a solution to get rid of the crud.

    3. Yes, I wanted that induction roar- c'mon, 135hp in a 970kg car, and twin choke, twin carbs as standard - nice.. as if that wasn't quick.....

However - They should not be counted on alone to give any extra power and should be used in unison with other equipment to gain hp - the most basic setup being performace exhaust and air-filter- You will also need to make sure that the mixture settings or the mapping (for injection) is set up correctly.. you could find your car running a touch too lean...

You see that.. That's you that is... :D :D :D

Why not try a after market panel filter instead?

These KnN's balls up the MAF imo. They suck in more air with more shit, and although you can clean/oil them that oil shit gets through  coating the contacts on the MAF fucking it up.

Fucked MAF means fucked readings, turning to a lean or weak mixture and throwing the EML going into limp home mode running the engine rich.

    Going by past experience

Washing a car, is very much like making love to a beautiful woman. You've got to caress the bodywork. Breathe softly and gently. And give every inch of it your loving attention. And make sure you've got a nice wet sponge

Isnt that because the supras air filtration system is completely sealed with cold air feeds anyway and its pretty impossible to improve on it? I know I was looking for a CAI when I had my supra but quickly changed my mind.
