    I have been thinking about getting a mazda mx5 - 1999 - 2004 1.8 146bhp

Anyone had any experience with these?

Could it be used as an everyday car?? considering winter is coming !

It seems to be the only fast..ish sportscar I can get insured on !

Its either the mazda or another alfa 147.. seems pointless buying car i already got, even tho it is the new shape..

    Cheers

Decent little sports car. Even if it is seen as girlie. Would I drive one? Fuck no. I'd get a TR6.

Quite a shame TBH as it's a proper little sports car.

+1, A proper, well set up sports car, there wouldnt be so many on the road if they wernt so good.  Slightly more masculine, how about a Toyota MR2 roadster?  Cant see there being much difference insurance wise?

MR2 is 1 or 2 groups higher i think... which puts its into the ' Im not paying that much for insurance!!' band

Had a look at the alfa.. mmmm... 2006 147 Ti

Need to drive the mx5 before making any decsions.

dont take the insurance grouping to seriously. i found an impreza (standard wrx) almost double the insurance cost than what i pay for the supra. impreza wrx group 17, supra group 20.

Personally I dont like the newest 147, the 03 style is my favourite.  I looked for about 6 months to find a Alfa 147 GTA Super (Autodelta 3.7) with no luck at all.  With the Auto delta kit, I think it is easily the best looking hot hatch ever....
