Posted: Sun 16th Nov 2008, 4:35 pm hey im upgrading my phone in a few weeks and not sure which phone to go for ... the iphone, the new samsung pixon or the new sony erricson cybershot. does anyone have any of these phones - what do you guys recomend??- Posted: Sun 16th Nov 2008, 4:48 pm
Ive got an iPhone but it really depends on what you want your phone to do. I like mine for the web experience and all the apps etc for it, it also keeps my contacts, calanders email all in sync where ever i am.. However if you want a phone for taking photos and making videos the iphone isn't the phone for you. Great for viewing them, but the camera is shite to be honest with ya but i have always kept a digital camera in my bag so its never a problem for me.
Maybe if you tell us what you want from a phone we can help with your decision

Well you can't shoot video on the iPhone, the camera is ok in good light but in low light has shit quality. The web on the iPhone is fantastic as you get a full experience i just wish adobe would hurry up with there version of flash for the iPhone. Emails are great to check, if you have gmail you can use IMAP email which will keep it synced with your inbox on the computer. Delete a message on you phone/computer and it deletes off your computer/phone as well etc...
The app store has thousands of stuff, some useful, most is crap. I like shazam and vicinity. Vicinity uses GPS to help me find local pubs etc when im somewhere i don't know. Helped me find a hospital in manchester once when i didn't know where it was but i knew i was close.
I can't say what the others are like but i do like my iPhone to be honest. I don't miss the video or MMS function as email is a good replacement anyway. Its got a great screen so you can chuck your fav TV show on it and watch it on the bus or whatever. I know the iPhone gets a lot of hate but to be honest a lot of people hate apple products just because there made by apple. It is a over hyped phone but regardless i like it and ive not had any problems with the first one or the current 3G one. You should go to the o2 store and have a play with it. Most of them have working ones out on the tables so you can use them.

If you're looking for a good camera phone and the ability to take videos.......Why are you even considering the iPhone?
Nothing against the iPhone as I haven't got one, or used one, but you need to look at what you want out of a phone and then check the specs on each one.
Haven't used any of them myself, but I'd go for the Pixon if I was after a phone with a good camera.

I think the Pixon looks quite a good catch tbh, that or the new Sony Ericson that comes in blue.
Haven't read reviews on order though
