- i always tell my parents to buy me whatever they want for xmas as i generally have no idea what to get, my first suggestion was turned down, so i told them to ''surprise me'', anyhoo my dad is giving me money and my mum has bought me an xbox 360 60gb i think it is, with 4 or 5 games, im not the computer type but i play them now and then, i was just wondering what is needed to play online with them, does it all come with the console itself or would i need to buy anything, also is it simple enough to set up ? cheers

You will need an ethernet cable or wireless access point, and a subscription to Xbox Live!

You should get an ethernet cable with the 360 (I did with mine at least) and then all you will need to play online is to buy an Xbox LIVE! Gold Membership which is between £30-£40 a year, depending where you go. You can buy a three month membership for about £15 as well.
That's all you need. Connect your 360 to your computer and you should be under way. You may need to configure your network settings so that your Internet connection is shared with your 360, I had to do that at first and it was a pain in the arse because I don't know much about networks, but after I eventually got it sorted it was fine.
Echo- i'll have to have a look when it gets delivered, we've got wireless internet, so would i be able to access online conection without cables, or does the xbox need to be connected to the computer

I'm not sure if they already come with them, I don't think so though.

I thought so, lol. I bought my 360 nearly two years ago and they never came with one. I know that Microsoft have revamped the 360 so wasn't sure if they included the wireless adapter with them now or whether you still needed to buy them sperately.
