- From what i can gather its the entry level 9XXX series of cards from nvidia, although it says its a fully DX10 card it'll be similar to the one i've got at the moment (8400gs) which is also an entry level card.

Thanks for the post.I'm not trying to say its a bad card at all, there are some things you may find that it will struggle with though.

- Depending on what you use it for, depending on the other specs of it, it's a good card for everyday use, you don't need anything really powerful unless you're planning on playing games or wanting to watch high quality videos and edit them, but then you'd need to upgrade more than just your graphics card.....Last edited by Izzet, Sat 15th Nov 2008, 7:16 pm.

Izzet, I also have 2,60 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processors and 2 GB RAM. I don't play games like World of Warcraft anyway but to me this seemed like a decent specification seeing aas m old PC was 1.6 GZ Intel Celeron, 768 MB RAM and some poor graphics card.
I have noticed movies look a lot better.

It is a good set up, shops usually compromise on graphics cards and sound cards to be able to offer lower price machines.
What OS you running?

Vista is known for hogging a lot of RAM.

I didn't know that, I thought 2GB would be sufficient.
Once I get some money together I will upgrade RAM and the card, it's not really a priority right now I was just curious about the card, cheers Izzet

On XP it is, on Vista it is ok, but for a significant improvement in performance you're better off with 4GB+
You can buy 4GB for around £50, it's not that expensive anymore tbh.

Man that is cheap, when you said Vista ate up memory I was considering installing XP but if RAM is that cheap then it's well worth upgrading that instead.
Once again, advice is very much appreciated.

Have these myself - NOT saying to buy these as they may not work in your computer, but just showing how cheap they are - and they're PC6400

Oh and personally I'd say go with the re-install of XP, but if you're happy with Vista, and have no problems with it then you may as well stick with it.
And in comparison - this is how expensive RAM may be for computers with DDR3 support
