thank you nathan. Glad you could bring your own personal viewpoint in here - most people in your position would say that the weight can be lost and its just through laziness and greed that people get obese - but the fact that even you agree about the psychological and financial problems is quite heartening.

Vamp, if we included morons in the "to be shot" list you would probably think twice about making that statement.< only joking mind, i've actually quite taken to you recently. <3 luv yar.

People don't realise its a accumilation of factors. Thats why I had to make it clear that the person who is obese is to blame as well but its not from the motivations and reason some of else lemmings in here have been giving. People don't realise how finiancial status can obvisouly affect your lifestyle and also stupid wankers in here saying bullying is a way to do it are pathetic and have no clue what the psychological affects that has on depressed and obese people.

Then why haven't people improved their health with the help of government suggestions and being left up to their own devices?

We clearly arent a lazy species as we have worked ridiculously hard, look at everything we have created over the past 100-200 years, that doesn't associate itself with laziness.

And if we look we see that certain areas contain lots of people who are active, eat healthily and live long and fruitful lives, im pertaining to health only here. In other areas, often those with high poverty, little facility for education, employment and adequate healthcare, you see low life expectancy, higher trends of obesity and ill health.

Now Jargi, by this trend, you would be suggesting that people from certain poorer areas are inferior to those in more affluent areas. I'm sure you can now see the error of your ways?

If it's such a simple problem then why hasn't it been solved?

That's like saying that all our current economic woes are because an idiot is in charge of our country. Plainly that's just the easiest excuse to think of and fall back on, because people can't be arsed to challenge the problem.

Our economic woes were created by America (I do't want to go into it much as I failed economics last year lol)

The big american banks did largely cause our current economic crisis yes mate, but our system was so weak and dependant on confidence that we can't really blame anybody other than ourselves.

If we had a watertight economy in the first place our exposure to the subprime lunacy wouldn't be so big and our housing market wouldn't be collapsing, inflation wouldn't be going through the roof, wages wouldn't be being kept down to stave off the threat of inflation and the recession that is going to engulf us (if it hasnt already - i don't know how you can say that a 1.4% increase in inflation in 3 months isn't rather recessionary given that growth is struggling to stay above 1%, meaning the economy is actually shrinking) would actually not be happening.
