Greetings!

Here it is, the new MingleVille (version 3).

Sorry for the long wait during the upgrade process, there was a lot of data to transfer between our new server locations.

Here are some of the changes you need to know about:

  • Ratings
    Your ratings have been reset!
The ratings are now a positive/negative based system (like the original MV site). Please don't get too upset over the loss of your rating. Remember, it's just a number and shouldn't be taken so seriously.

  • Points
You have not lost any points! If you had the Recent Visitors upgrade enabled, you have now been refunded 1000 points. Don‹t worry, the Recent Visitors feature is still available but it is no longer a one-time upgrade.

  • Savebox
You no longer have a savebox for your messages. If you had any messages in your Savebox, they have now been moved into your Inbox.

  • BBCode
There is no more BBCode! Instead, you may enter HTML code.
Most of the time you won‹t even need to edit the code, the new editor will do it all for you. Head over to our Help Forum if you need help modiying the code.

  • Profile Colours
The profile page has changed quite a lot. Not all of your custom profile colours have been copied over.
You will need to check the colours of your profile as some text may not be visible.

  • Default Picture
Due to changes with the pictures system, we were unable to copy over your default picture.
Instead, we have automatically set your default to whichever picture has the most views.

  • Guestbook
You no longer have a guestbook. Instead, you have a comments section directly on your profile page. All of your guestbook comments have been copied over to your profile comments.

You should make sure your web browser is up to date. JavaScript and caching must be enabled (most likely already is).

The site has been tested with:

  • Firefox 2 & 3 (recommended)
  • Internet Explorer 7 (recommended)
  • Internet Explorer 6 (works, but slow and some effects disabled)
  • Opera 9.50 (works, some layout rounding issues)
  • Opera 9.27 (works, editor not available - must enter plain text or html manually)
  • Safari 3.1.1 (works, it‹s font rendering makes some things not look the way they should)

We understand that it may take a while to get used to the new site, but we hope you like it!

Thanks!

MingleVille

I think that the new mingleville i so much better than the old one, yeah people are going to find it hard at the beginning, everyone who has, bebo, didnt you find it hard, when they revamped bebo, why don't you give them a chance, they are improving it for US at least give them a little appreciation & respect, like someone else said in a different comment: ''its a good job we arn't paying for this site'' and i think its completly true, i think its an amazing social networking site, that you can get for free, yeah, bebo and myspace, etc, are exactly the same, but doesnt mingleville have alot of unique features, like: chat, colour tools, whos visited etc?

    well thats my opinion :):D

I think you've done an AMAZING job, mingleville team

Wow a lot has changed from the version of the site before all the forums and stuff, and when it was called... er facemingler was it?

Anyway I think it looks good, obviously a lot of work was put into it, and it would seriously piss me off if I put a lot of work into something, then people threatened me with deleting accounts and stuff to try and make me change it. I mean, wtf.

    *thinks of example*

How would you like it if you trained for 10 years to be a blueberry millions(the sweet) maker, and you made millions of millions in that time. Then someone said to you blueberry millions suck and that they were never buying them again and that you should stop making them!

It would be pretty annoying eh? Ehhhhh? (That's a really bad example sorry)

Yarr anyway, the only thing I dislike about it, is having to know your email address to login, haha. I found accounts I forgot I had! Then had to use the 'forgot email' thing... thank hoob for that!!

*wonders what mingleville v7 will look like*

I think you should do a joke version, and make it PINK and sparkly, and make it so you have to be like 78 years old to join... that'd be funny. Then you can be all like 'well at least it's not as bad as THAT'.

OR make it so everyone who doesn't like this version, has a really minging version, so they start to like this one.

    Tee hee hee heeeeeeeee.
