We spent centuries steaming through cultures and continents showing the world the error of its ways and the magnificance of being British. You can't blame the people from those countries and cultures for deciding they wanted to play on the other team and following the British back to Blighty. A huge magnificant empire on which the sun never set. What spoils, what riches must be available to those with a dream. So they came. In their millions. And what did they get?

yeah if your country is in the position of being able to help its own first before taking on the responsability of looking after everyone else then yes its our duty to help others not just as being english but as being human and caring about another being.
Whilst there r people who were born in this country who are sleeping on the streets (granted its usually their own faults) then we shouldnt be helping anyone as its a kick in the face to those people when they hear how much england helps others and how we respect those who live here

maybe but they arent the ones who the british messed around with they are their decendants and are capable of standing on their own feet by now. And again as i have said before on another forum why should it be our generation that has to right all the wrongs of the past

If everyone thought like that, we'd still have black slaves in the plantations picking cotton, or the Nazi's would have taken over the world.
Of course it's our generations' responsibilty to right the wrongs of the past. Thats how change occurs.

O/T i think everybody has a right to vote for what they believe in, if it meant voting for the BNP so be it, personally i dont agree with hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants sponging off our governments, but if these people come to our country and make a contribution to our society then they are more than welcome to come.
