Knowingly 90%+ of people on these forums dont care about teams below 4th in the Premiership and Scottish tables. However, to discuss something different for a change, the current plight at Rotherham United.
Within 9 games they have made it into positive figures from -17. This is a massive achievement for a club to do with so little money. 'Bigger' clubs with larger fan bases are likely to find this easy to get over, i.e Leeds who can bring players for money and fund huge wages, but despite the deficit on both money and large fan base Rotherham have managed to suceed in such a short time.
Not to mention the comparable success in the Cup competitions, getting past the first round hasn't happened in over 5 years or so. Not to mention knocking out teams such as Sheff Wed, Wolves, and Southampton supposedly far superior than Rotherham United. Tomorrow night (tonight) it's the visit of Leeds United in a different cup and for once going out in the first round wouldn't be disasterous.
Praise to Mark Robins and assistant John Breckin for changing everything round they deserve most of the praise, and to the fans who didn't give up hope and for supporting the club financially into the future.
The only sour points are that coverage of such an amazing feat considering the circumstances has been bleak. Sky Sports has covered an interview with Mark Robins once - and that is only down to us being on Sky against Leeds tonight.
Secondly, wont be long until other clubs come in for Mark Robins and all the hard work gets undone.
I suppose this thread is mainly aimed at Rotherham fans to give a chance to celebrate in positive times for once, and for others to have their say on such matters.
