In the face of comments like that from the Russians i feel it is absolutely imperative that Obama wins the American Presidency. Or rather, that McCain doesn't - I fear that his hothead style of foreign policy and gung-ho neolib american brand of conservate-imperialism will likely plunge us to the brink, which even with Russia's blatant wrongdoings is still totally unnecessary and unavoidable.

i agree i think mccain would be the worse thing to happen for not only the US but for the world. I like obama mainly because his speeches are inspiring and if he is a man of his word then he would be good for america and maybe possibly for the relations of the world with america

Obama is inspiring? The bloke is full of hot air and falls apart when he has to move away from his cue cards.

I'm not talking about their general credentials for the White House.

I'm purely thinking about foreign policy - i think that Obama is far less dangerous than McCain will turn out to be. Imagine another 4 or even 8 years of Bushite (or bullshit, whatever really) foreign policy - im pretty sure the world will be a fractured, war torn, apocalyptic mess if that turns out to be the case.

No i really have to disagree (obviously). I'm not expecting an Obama premiership to be isolationist or even well considered in terms of foreign policy. I'm expecting more war and typical interventionism and imperialism from the Americans. All i'm saying is that McCain will be far worse than Obama in this respect. In fact i really dont see what could pursuade anybody apart from the rich who want to serve their own interests (these make up a minority of the population), to vote for McCain. No policies, no charisma, no likeability, no promised economic help for Americans apart from a continuation of Bush's failed economic, social and foreign policies. All i've seen him do this campaign is sit back and attack Obama for being black and young and for being an impressive speaker.

so u would rather a fully blown cowboy take control (again) rather than someone who seems to want to fix the gaps that bush has made with everyone in the world?

As a big-pink-fluffy-Liberal. I will be voting for Barack Obama.

If John McCain gets into power then God-fucking-help-us. It will be four more years of war-mongering, economic slump, and general shitness. He has already stated that he will keep American Troops in Iraq for the next 100yrs if necessary.....wtf? He see's pulling out as an admittance of 'defeat'. Well DANG! Sorry, shouldn't have stuck our fucking noses in in the first place.

Obama is the only real hope we have for 'change'. Yet he hasn't really come up with any strategies on how he will enact this change. He needs to get some, and quick. The only thing that worries me is that he will have a strong head on weak shoulders. Or be assassinated. O_o

Saying that, anything will be better than the absolute chimp we have now. He has run this country into the ground.

Whoever gets elected though, has a hard job on their hands in turning the country around, and Americans are impatient. It will take more than 4years to tidy Bushs' shit up, if 'change' isn't seen within that, Obama can forget about being re-elected after.
