Posted: Sat 16th Aug 2008, 8:18 pm I got an abcess, a really big one that makes my mouth look like the size of a golf ball, been on anti biotics all week, but it hasn't done nothing, I finished my anti biotics yesterday and it still hasn't gone down. My face feels really hot aswell 
So anyway, if I go to the emergency dentist tomorrow, will they do anything about it? could they like drain it or something?
And anyone who's had this done, did it hurt?

it sounds like you have a necrotic pulp (ofc i don't know without examination) so please don't be hostile towards the professional who is trying to help you.

Anyway went to the Emergency Dentist today and cos there was loads of people waiting and it was taking forever, I walked out, but I have an appointment with my proper dentist on the 19th

i have the EXACT same thing but on a root canal tooth have had it for 4 months but last week i was in agony with it for 7 days straight i took enough ibprofen and paracetemol to last a life time.i cant afford to pay for a dentist and dont get exseption until september when i start college so im abit fucked.ive been in agony with my shoulder and neck the same side as the abcess for the last 2 days im beginning to think its coz of that.you can die from them you know, so if you have the option of getting it treated then you should ASAP!
Posted: Tue 19th Aug 2008, 10:58 pm Got it sorted today, dentist took the filling out, drained the abcess and then gave me a temp filling, got to go back in 3 weeks to get a proper filling.
It was fucking minging when he did it, proper stinks and leaves a horrible taste in your mouth, but at least it's all sorted now

she went to the dentist but it got a lot worse at first before it got better.

Posted: Wed 20th Aug 2008, 9:20 pm Yeah mine was a lot worse, as soon as I started taking the antibiotics my face started swelling. At first I thought I was having an allergy to them since I am allergic to quite a few types, but my mum said it was quite normal.
It's 100% better now though
Only weird fucked up thing is, I have shit loads of spots on my jaw, on the side I had the abcess, don't know if it's a coincidence or not, but it's pretty weird cos I never really get spots
