What do you think guys ?... will this really be " the biggest fight in UFC history " or do you think this is just another no contest just to get the box office numbers??

The latter.
Shouldn't Couture be fighting Nogueira anyways? Considering he vacated his title due to Dana screwing him..........

He'd already signed to coach the next UF and fight Mir. The winner of that will face the winner of Couture/Lesnar for the undisputed title.
I reckon Lesnar will get schooled by Couture. He really shouldn't have faced Mir and Couture in his first 3 fights.

Ah ok, shit decision by Dana yet again.
Couture should have a mandatory title shot, fuck the winner of the fight.
Hopefully he will, I can see why Lesnar wanted to though. Wanted to show he is tough enough and does belong there.

Well, Couture is still champion. Nogueira is only interim champion. So there's kinda like 2 heavyweight champions...Another reason Couture should have just gone into a match with Nogueira.
I was reading the other day that Kurt Angle wants to fight Couture in a full contact MMA fight sometime in the future. Ha.

Exactly. What happens if Lesnar was to win that fight? Lesnar would get a fight against either Nogueira or Mir and Couture, the actual champion, would probably end up having to fight a contender to get a title shot.
Do you get the feeling Dana's starting to treat Couture the same way he treated Arlovski? Or is it just me

Ooook, then.

Hmm, I don't know. He fought hard to get Couture back and although he could have stripped him of the title, he didn't. I fucking hate him for how he treated Arlovski though.
Well, Couture having to fight 2 big fights, just to be undisputed champion again does seem a bit strange, but it'll make good viewing anyway.

Yeah, probably Dana wanting to prolong his career to make some money from him. Had he stripped him off the title there would have been riots.
- In terms of money generated from this fight, then yes it will be the biggest, easily.
- kurt wanted to fight in the UFC a couple years ago, but he wasnt willing to start at the bottom like lesnar was, he wanted to come in, and fight the top fighters... i think lesnar is the real deal, he needs a few more fights before hes ready for a title fight.... but he is gettin there, and if he can do it after fighting 3 top class fighters, then thats awesome, no-one else would DARE to try it...

Lesnar's second EVER MMA bout was against the former UFC champion... his fourth is against a HOFer. He told Dana White that he didn't want to fuck about in smaller promotions. Lesnar had no intentions at any stage of pissing about getting 10 fights under his belt before a title tilt. He had the same attitude in the NFL, it was either starting for a franchise or nothing... no willingness to cut his teeth in the CFL or similar.
Power to the guy, he's looking quite solid and is making it pay as well as most top fighters... but to say he was willing to start at the bottom is a fucking crock. That's the kinda shit they'll spout if they ever make a movie... Brock, The Underdog Story....
GamblinMan hath returneth.I'd just like to clarify a couple of things which seem to be confused in this thread....
Couture/Lesnar is a TITLE FIGHT. If Couture loses, he loses the belt... so would be in a position of having to work his way back up to the top, just like anyone else in combat sports. ARN/Mir is for the interim belt (as mentioned above) and as such, the winner is effectively in line for a "unification"... take the contractual shit out of it and it's a no. 1 contender match-up.
Secondly, Arlovski was on the piss, clubbing during his fight build-ups and shagging anything with a pulse... his attitude to MMA was not great, and as soon as the performances reflected this, Dana cut his losses. The Werdum/Arlovski farce seems to have been the straw that broke the camel's back. Dana had seen similar shit with Ortiz, but Ortiz was at least marketable in the notoriously anti-East USA. The Pitbull, whilst carrying a cult following, wasn't in Ortiz's league in terms of marketability and was cut. Hey, I loved the guy when he was on his game, but the cracks were showing. I hope he comes back and takes the game seriously, he has the tools to be a legend.... but he needs the head to be in it.
GamblinMan hath returneth.Brock Lesnar to win by superplex.
