Anybody good at it and got any tips?  It's got to be the only reversing exercise I find hard to do.

It's a piece of piss tbh, so yeah i'm good at it. No tips though, lol.

Slows you're best bet using the clutch, and it's all to do with positioning

depends on the size of your car, if its small like a ka or clio etc. drive up next to the car you want to park behind. make sure your wing mirrors are level. reverse slowly and start turning the wheel when the back end of the other car passes your rear passenger window. opposite lock when the rear quarter of the car comes in line with the passenger door.

    hope it helps you.

my electric wing mirrors adjust so you can see the rear wheel. a good bloody thing to as i dont wanna be scraping no curb. this makes it hell of a lot easier to park.

There's a BMW that does park for you.  They had it on top gear once.  I can afford one of those lol.

When I do get my own car it won't be that much adapted.

wasnt it a lexus? whatever it was it didnt do a very good job of the parking iirc.

the only way to get better at it is practice, practice and more practice.

aye i passed my test with only 2 minors and that was for hesitating at a junction... i had to do a parrallel park not one minor

i had an amazing instructor tho, he was so picky at everything and over perfected me! with parrallel he taught me to reverse till the side mirror was parralel with the back end of the front window, then turn the wheel slightly till your mirror is parralel with the back end of the car, then bring it in slowly when your mirror looks like its touching the pavement, then bring it right in WALLA

My instructor used little stickers to aid me.

Small car = drive up to the side of the car you want to reverse behind so that your wing mirrors are level with the front of the car. Then start to reverse back SLOWLY, as you do so start to turn the wheel so the back end turns the direction you want to go, i think it's usually 3 locks/turns till it's at the right angle, keep going back a couple of yards then start to straighten out. Should end up about 4-8 inches from the curb. I think that's how my instructor taught me. Can't say i've had to use it much since i passed my test.
